Illustration Friday-Wired

One of the things that I really love about all of these old photos that I collect and use in my work is how simple life was 80 years ago. I don't think that life was easier. I certainly wouldn't want to be rubbing my clothes on a washboard, but I do wonder about the peace and quiet. I feel like we are all so constantly inundated with technology and rushing cars and noise that sometimes I, at least, feel like I am way too overloaded. So, for this weeks Illustration Friday theme of wired, I offer a more unplugged version.

Very nice collage. His smile is so uplifting. Yes, imagine not having all the gagets we put up with in our lives. Nice post!

I agree with the overload. Sweet sweet silence. Very much like your unplugged collage.

Wonderful work! I often wonder what it was like a long time ago as well. I wish that there were an inbetween.....to were they would know what they do today about medicines..etc. At the same time though, we wouldn't have all this noise and frustrating things going on around us. Sigh....Anyhoo, wonderful work girl!

I know that my grandmother's life was very hard, 14 kids and no money. We have more time because of "progress" but we definitely spend too much of that time with certain aspects of that progress, TV, computers...she says as she types away at her computer instead of reading her book;-)
