Illustration Friday: Phobia

It is so funny that todays Illustration Friday theme is phobias! Yesterday I was working on this piece, Claire, and thinking about how close to the hedges this poor woman is standing. I kept thinking about how there were probably 100 spiders about to jump on her, cover her in their webs and drag her off to their dungeon! I HATE spiders, any bugs really. Insects are one of my main phobias! I have stopped gardening carefree ever since I started noticing 2 inch long meaty grasshoppers in my roses! It is sad. And then last night, on the 11 o'clock news, there was a whole segment about how the spider population is booming this year because it has been so friggin' hot out! Ah! So yeah, it is funny that today phobias is the theme. . . .

That is so funny about the hedges.... I think the same think about swimming in the ocean. Once I got stuck in a kelp bed and I thought for sure there must be a least a couple of bodies in there - you know considering our population and all! It made sense at at the time. :)

Oi vey! Swimming in the ocean is a whole other story!! FREAKS ME OUT! I had a friend take me snorkeling and I made him SWEAR that he wouldn't let go of my hand. Within seconds he was gone and I was hyperventilating in the damn snorkel! That was 10 years ago. I am still pissed at him! LOL

yep. I, too, hate spiders. TERRIFIED actually. I have to wear gloves up to my elbows and carry a big stick when I garden. Luckily we don't have too many BIG ones in NH. Ocassionally they come in on the fire wood. (and its firewood season...)
Excellent entry!
