IF: Super Heroes

I think that our most important modern day super heroes, are our teachers. I was lucky to have a few in Jr. High who were amazingly dedicated to us students and inspried us to learn. They worked so hard and sacrificed extra hours to help make sure we understood the material. Teachers dont get 1/10th of 1% of the acknolwedgment that they should. So if you child, or you yourself, have an inspiring teacher, let them know how much you appreciate what they do!

I like the whole feel of this piece and your take on the subject. I agree...teachers are such saints. And saints of patience!

What a striking piece. I like the use of the "Understanding Human Nature" page and the easy-going, friendly look of the man in the photo.

Hehehe... my students made me feel like a super hero yesterday, as they presented their thesis's dissertation two and three days ago... and all of them did it great! But the truth is they are the super heroes!

I guess every teacher would love to see as good as his/her most dearest teachers ;)

I TOTALLY AGREE! You should let your teachers know what they have done for you. :) This is wonderful work and very inspiring! It has great meaning!

Yes, always super-heros are normal people...as you say, teachers, but fathers, friends, anybody.
I like your collage so much, and you´re invited to see my blog when you want..

I would have loved this piece even if I hadn't read your post - the man's face and pose are so open and warm. I've been a teacher for 20 years, and it always makes my heart sing to get some positive feedback from a student, even if it's years later!

I love that comment ...as I`ve been a teacher myself. Sometimes just the tiniest bit of thanks can do wonders!!!!

As always, a gorgeous collage! I also agree with your sentiment...at 42 years old I still remember teachers who have inspired me, and as a mom, I am sometimes overwhelmed by the amount of inspiration & kindness my kids get from their teachers. Thanks for the reminder :-)

The best teacher I ever had was tough but fair...and I hear that alot about other's favorite teachers...it is a tough world out there and for a while the system tried to pop out the 'love them to death' mental state for incoming teachers...and it has really hurt several generations of students...especially in art fields...then they get into college or the workforce and get the bomb dropped...talk about hurting some self-esteem!

Love this one--the muted colors and composition, as well as the sentiment behind it.
